We will only use the information that you provide us with in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. You can check the information that we hold about you by logging on to our website and checking 'Your Account'. You may update your personal information online at any time.
Visitor Information and Cookies
Flix.org.uk does not make use of cookies, and have instead opted to use sessions. This means that no information (excluding normal browser history) is stored on you computer. The sessions only last for a short time, so if you leave you computer for some time, you will be required to log-in again (this is to ensure that no-one other than yourself can use your information stored on Flix.org.uk). The only information stored about visitors that log-in is the time of the log-in. All votes cast in film-list voting is anonymous, although to prevent multiple voting, a record is keep of who has already voted.
Use and storage of your personal information
In general, the information provided by members is used only for the purpose of communicating to the members by Flix. An exception to this is that Flix provides a list of members to the Curzon Cinema in Loughborough, this is to facilitate the discounted entry for Flix members to the Curzon Cinema.
Members E-mail
On a regular basis, the chairperson of Flix (or someone acting on their behalf) will send an e-mail to the Flix members. This will include a reminder of films showings as well as other information about the society. The e-mail will start with the subject, [Flix-Members], making it easy to spot.
If at anytime you do not want to receive the e-mail update, you can either e-mail chair@flix.org.uk, or go to this page to remove yourself from the e-mail update list (this link is in the footer of every e-mail sent out.
